Firefly is a full-service carrier in Malaysia headquartered in Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang, Selangor. Founded in 2007, it is a fully-owned subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines. However, it operates under a different company. Some of its flights are under code-share with MAS.
Firefly prides itself on being a carrier with many flight frequencies. This can be seen especially on Kuala Lumpur (SZB) to Alor Setar (AOR) route.

The name “Firefly” was chosen to signify the airline’s four characteristics, namely agile, brilliant, charm and fun. Firefly had its first flight on April 3rd 2007 from Penang International Airport (PEN) to Kota Bharu. Recently, Firefly dropped the slogan “Your Community Airline” from its profile.
