Sultan Abdul Halim Airport (IATA: AOR, ICAO: WMKA), also known as Alor Setar Airport, is a domestic airport in Alor Setar, Kedah, Malaysia. Located just 15 km (9.3 mi) from Alor Setar city centre, it is surrounded by vast paddy fields. From May 5th 2006, the airport is now operating using newly-constructed terminal.

Flights between Alor Setar Airport to Kuala Lumpur will take between 55 minutes to 1 hour and 10 minutes, depending on the type of aircraft.
There are four arlines operating to/from Alor Setar Airport:
- AirAsia (AK 6013, AK 6015)
- Malaysia Airlines (MH 1203, MH 1209, MH 1253)
- Malindo Air
- Royal Brunei Airlines (BI 3002, via codeshare with MH 1203)
AirAsia has been using Airbus A320s for flights to/from Alor Setar. On the other hand, Malaysia Airlines has been using Boeing 737-800 and Firefly/Malindo uses ATR-72 turboprop aircraft.
Airport Technical Details
The airport has more than 12 commercial flights departing to/from it every day. Besides, there is also an Royal Malaysian Air Fore (RMAF) base on the other side of the runway. The base shares runway with the airport.
The new terminal has two jetways and have the capacity to receive Airbus A330 operation.

The former terminal building still stands until today. Its future use is unknown. There have been talks to convert it into a dedicated haj terminal.
The former runway was 1,963 m x 45 m in length and it was extended to 2,745 m x 45 m for added capability.
The new terminal building has several phases of construction.
Phase 4 of the construction is being done by Bina Darulaman Berhad (332945-X), with a commencement date of 19 Jan 2009 and completion date of 14 Nov 2009 respectively.
Kedah Sato Sdn Bhd (82740-W) is also involved with the construction of the new terminal.
TH Hotel is located about 1 kilometer from the terminal building. It is owned by Tabung Haji. The hotel also has a convention center. The proximity of the hotel with the airport enables travelers from all over the country easy access to the venue.
