Kulim International Airport (KXP) is a proposed international airport located in Kuala Muda district, Kedah. The airport is still in its planning stage.
On 19 March 2019, the Sinar Harian newspaper reported that the Minister of Economic Affairs, Datuk Seri Azmin Ali has announced that the Prime Minister has approved the construction project of Kulim International Airport involving RM 1.6 billion of cost. The cost will be borne by external investors. The decision was made when the Prime Minister has chaired the meeting of Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) on the previous Monday.
The development of Kulim International Airport will be coordinated by a specially-established entity, KXP AirportCity Holdings Sdn Bhd (source: The Star).
